Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura is clinically characterized by microangiopathic hemolytic
anemia, thrombocytopenia, fever, renal disorder and transient bizarre neurological symptoms. Its
essential histological lesion consists of numerous complete or, more often, incomplete occlusions of
the arterioles and capillaries by hyaline material.

The binding of bilirubin by albumin is thought to play an important role in the pathogenesis of
kemictems. Free bilirubin hypothesis has led to develop methods to evaluate the binding capacity and
affinity of bilirubin to albumin in the plasma. Horseradish peroxidase oxidation of free bilirubin can
estimate the level of free bilirubin, bilirubin binding capacity and bilirubin binding affinity.

From Aug. 1979 to June 1986 we reviewed 27 patients with diabetes insipidus to observe the clinical
features, laboratory findings and treatment of diabetes insipidus.
The results were as follows:
